Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch M6

Key features

• M6 chip with two Neural Engines for work done on the laptop
• 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion
• Three Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, SDXC card slot and MagSafe
• 1TB of fast PCIe storage as standard on every model

The work finishes while you are still watching

The M6 is Apple's 2nm generation, with a second Neural Engine and neural accelerators built into every graphics core. Compiling a project, exporting a cut, opening a very large file or running an AI model on the laptop itself are the jobs that used to mean getting up to make a cup of tea. Memory bandwidth is 170GB/s and the SSD is PCIe 5.0, so nothing waits on the parts around the chip either.

A display you can grade on

The 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR panel runs at 3024 by 1964 with extreme dynamic range and ProMotion, so photography and video look the way they will look when they leave your hands, and scrolling and pen work stay smooth.

Every port you actually use

Three Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, a headphone jack and MagSafe charging. The card goes straight in, the projector takes a normal cable, and the power lead lets go rather than pulling the laptop off the desk. The dongle bag can stay at home.

Built to be carried

An aluminium unibody that takes being put in and out of a bag every day, a six-speaker system and a three-microphone array for calls from anywhere, and 1TB of storage as standard on every one of these, so the drive is not the thing that runs out first.
